How to free up space on Mac
Find the right starting point when your Mac is low on storage or needs room for an update.
Find what uses your storage
Start with macOS Storage settings. Documents, applications, photos and System Data need different approaches. A disk space visualizer helps you explore large folders; a cache cleaner focuses on temporary app files.
Review large files
Look through Downloads and old video exports. Move files you need to a backed-up external drive, then check the copies before removing the originals. Avoid deleting unfamiliar library files.
Make room for a macOS update
Check the space requested by the updater and review storage again after cleaning. There is no fixed amount MOLE can recover: it depends on the caches on your Mac.
Understand System Data
System Data includes several kinds of files; it is not one folder to delete. MOLE reviews user app caches only. If caches are small, investigate other storage categories instead.
